Greeting Spruce View Community!
I am so excited to be part of the new administration team here at Spruce View School. Last school year, I worked as a Student Services Coordinator at the Division Office in Innisfail. I have been overjoyed with the warm Viking welcome, and look forward to many great days and years ahead with you all.
I want you to know that I welcome your conversations, questions, and wonderings about the school, community, engagement, and anything school related. Please make appointments to see me, let me know how I can help, and let me know what your child(ren) are doing in the community as I would love to attend! Again, if there are any upcoming community events where I can connect with the community in a meaningful way, please reach out to us!
As you know, I have been a Viking for 17 years prior to my new role as Principal of SVS. Previously, I worked as classroom teacher in grades 1-12. During this time, I was embedded in the Spruce View community, and am excited to reconnect with stakeholders, parents, and partners in the upcoming years as Principal. I truly feel like I am home again.
I am thankful for the warm welcome I have received and reflect on what it means to be grateful. In the spirit of gratitude, please know how honoured I am to be part of this wonderful community, admin partners, teachers, and proud Vikings. I continue to be impressed by how all members of the SVS community embody pride in self, pride in community, and pride in others.
With gratitude,
Claire Funk
